There will be a demolition of structures to pave the way for the current reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

This is comes as the Federal Government is doing its best to address road problems in Nigeria, according to  The Director of Highways, South-West, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Mr. Funsho Adebiyi.

Adebiyi said that the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway had been redesigned to include some interchanges and flyovers, hence the need for demolition of structures and buildings in the affected areas are to give room for the new developments.

Structures marked for demolition will be compensated while there will be an expansion of lanes, as three lanes on both sides of the road, making six lanes.

He said the Federal Government is working with a contractor on compensation, and there would be adequate compensation for properly documented buildings that would be demolished.
